Team Formation
Minimize
U6 is a non competitive, and is the first sport many children play.

  • Teams are balanced so that there is an even number of boys and girls.
  • We try to place a few children from each school on a team.
  • Each team's average age is reviewed to ensure no team is too old or too young.
  • Got a Question?
    • U6 Director, Robert F. Fitzgibbon III  u6director@lazers.org
    • U6 and U8 Registrar,  Sabrina Barrett u6u8registrar@lazers.org
Coach Assignment
Minimize
Coaches in U6 are usually Mom's and Dads of players, who volunteer their time to run practices and games.  Volunteers are critical to the success of the program.

Please consider volunteering to Coach or to be a Team Parent.   Coaching is fun and rewarding.
Sportsmanship
Minimize
Dos & Don'ts
Do's
  • Promote Sportsmanship! It is very important that we remember this game is about having FUN!  After each game, the players will shake hands. The ONLY thing they should say is "GOOD GAME" to the opposing team. There can NOT be any unkind words like "they stink", or "we killed them". It is very hurtful to the players and we, as coaches and parents, must prevent this poor sportsmanship.
  • Arrive on time for practices. There will be 1-45 minute practice per week beginning as soon as the fields open. (Usually the last week of March or the first week of April). Arrive a few minutes before game time. We are on a tight schedule so all games will start on time. ALL families need to sit opposite the players and coaches during the games. Pre-K at 12:00 K at 1:30
  • Be positive and enthusiastic during games. Cheer your child and team on, even if they score in the wrong goal. They scored!!
  • A parent/guardian MUST remain at the practice and/or game. There can be NO drop-off and pick-up at this age level.
  • Each player needs: sneakers or soft cleats shin-guards size 3 soccer ball water bottle
  • Don'ts
  • Don't forget to thank your coaches. They are mom's and dad's that volunteer their time and efforts. Without them, we would have NO program!
