Rescheduling a travel game

  • Two options are available for rescheduling a (Grade 3 to HS) game: postpone and play after the originally scheduled date and time or pre-pone and play the game before the originally scheduled date and time.
  • Only reschedule when absolutely necessary, examples include; not having enough players to officially play the game, no coaches available during game time, or a religious holiday. Any questions, please email your age director

Steps to reschedule a game

1. Contact the opposing coach via email (check Bays contact info) and request a reschedule, include potential options for timing. Be sure to allow for a 3-day minimum between request and game time in order to find/confirm referees.

  • Suggested times. Game times are dependent on referee availability. During the week is typically the easiest and preferred time to reschedule to not conflict with club games and busy referee schedules. If requesting a weekend time, adjacent to a standard time slot for you age group is the best option. Note, team practice locations can be requested to be moved to accommodate a scheduled game.

2. With a few potential options agreed to by the opposing team, email the Field Assignor and Ref Assignor and copy the Age Director. Provide the information as in the sample below to reschedule your game. This includes the final confirmation from the visiting coach.

SAMPLE email:
